Keep the bandage on for the recommended time—usually 2 to 6 hours—depending on your artist’s guidance.
Initial covering shields your tattoo from bacteria & friction. Avoid removing it too early, as the skin is highly vulnerable after tattooing.
Avoid scrubbing or hot water, as can irritate the skin. Gentle wash helps prevent infection & sets the foundation for proper healing.
Begin your aftercare by gently washing the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap.
After gently washing your tattoo, use a clean, soft towel or paper towel to pat the area dry—never rub or wipe.
Rubbing can irritate the skin or damage the ink during this delicate healing phase. Lightly blot the tattoo until it’s completely dry.
The tattooed area has gently cleaned & patted dry, it's important to apply a thin layer of a recommended tattoo aftercare ointment.
Avoid over-applying just enough to create a protective layer is ideal. This promotes optimal healing while allowing your skin to breathe.

Continue to wash your tattoo gently twice a day — once in the morning and once before bed. Use clean hands and a mild, fragrance-free soap with lukewarm water. Carefully remove any dried plasma or residual ointment without scrubbing.

Once your tattoo is dry, apply a thin, even layer of a tattoo-specific moisturizer or unscented lotion (such as Aquaphor, or a natural balm). Apply it 2–3 times per day or as needed to keep the tattoo slightly hydrated but never greasy.

During this stage, your tattoo may scab, flake, or peel — this is normal, and you must resist the urge to pick or scratch. Doing so can pull out ink and cause scarring. Also, avoid soaking the tattoo (no swimming, hot tubs, or long baths).
